Today was a typical just hanging with the family kind of day. The only thing on schedule was a doctor's appointment early morning in Huntsville, but other than that we just were going to relax.
Thankfully, it was a beautiful day here in our little Mayberry, so SG got to spend a lot of time outside. This was a welcoming sight considering we have had either a lot of rain or cold weather and sometimes both lately.
Well, as I sat perusing some of my favorite recipe sites trying to get inspired to write our weekly menu, Daddy came in from looking at some plants at our local nursery and told me that SG's "boyfriend" was playing outside. By now, she had come inside to recover from sliding, swinging, chasing Daddy and washing cars while attempting to stay dry. I yelled up the stairs asking if she wanted to go play with her "boyfriend". There wasn't a second of hesitation in her voice.
She came flying down the stairs with her little pink Bible (the one given to us when she was born by Pastor Jay). I asked, "What are you going to do with your Bible?" Side Note: One must understand that most days that SG and her friend play together they spend time in the gardens digging out the mulch and dirt; therefore, I really didn't know what the Bible was going to do.
Without missing a beat she said, "I am going to read about Jesus to C." Gosh! I love this girl!
SG and Daddy headed out the door once again...Playing at her friends house then I suddenly heard what sounded like a party in my backyard. Upon looking, I noticed we had grown to a group of three. I sauntered outside to check out what all was going on and to, honestly, give Daddy a break. He then sent me next door to checkout what our neighbors were doing to their dining room. While there, I heard him coming back with kiddos in tow. Upon his arrival, he told us that SG got a little bit of a shock.
You see her "boyfriend" had an emergency need to relieve himself while playing in our backyard. Daddy being a little apprehensive told him to go get his daddy to help him. Well, that wasn't happening because he needed to go right then! So...you guessed it! He dropped his pants right there in front of SG and another little girl. Needless to say SG quickly said, "Ahh, man!" all the while covering her eyes.
Well, upon them arriving back to the "boyfriend's house and hearing this story, I go out to the garage to check on the kids and see SG trying to help C button his pants back while he holds up his pants. I couldn't help but chuckle. Then C turned and said, "Miss Carri, help please?!" Gosh I love this little boy!
I think the aftershock of this event has had more impact on Daddy than anyone else. SG didn't miss a beat while playing and stepped in to lend a helping hand when needed. If Daddy learned anything he learned: When you gotta go...You just gotta go!
