This morning, just as my alarm went off at 5 AM (I know quite early for a Sunday but I try to get up with the hubby to pray with him before he heads off for his not so off day. He is the minister of music at our church just in case you didn't know already.) I groggily reach over to my night stand amidst the pile of books and find my alarm (aka iPod). After finally opening one eye enough to slide the alarm to off, I hear the gradually increasing sound of rain.
Not realizing the chance of rain for today, I open my trusty Weather Channel app to take a glance at the weather to see when my next chance to run outside will arise. I am currently in the process of training for the Country Music Half Marathon along side my brother who will be running his first full marathon. As I slid my finger down today's forecast, I decided to tap on over to the 10 day outlook to see what would behold in this crazy "winter" weather for this week since today's high would only be 47. I know you northern/midwestern readers are thinking that's not cold but for this southern girl...that's cold.
In the process of looking at the "10 Day Outlook", I just happened to notice something that made me feel, well...OLD. The old adage, "Time flies when you having fun," came to mind immediately because I realized that February is almost over. Where has the time gone?
This means that on Friday my baby boy will be 3 months old! In less than 2 months my first born will be 4 years old. And in less than 4 months I will have been married for 8 years to my best friend!
Where has the time gone?
Following this realization, my mind immediately reverted to all the things I have to accomplish before the month's end. Yet I quickly reminded myself, "Carri, it's time to stop...slow down...and enjoy every ounce of every moment that you can. If you can't do it all it's going to be OKAY!" This is a daily reminder to myself because if you remember from a previous post this year it's all about simplicity.
So as I glance once again at the month that has flown by, I remind myself of all the precious memories that have been made and look forward to the ones to come...
